I think Garmin StreetPilot 2720 is good one but not sure is a good for truck drivers, I suggest these gps truck drivers :

| How do I change my current location on a Garmin StreetPilot C340 gps? - 9/5/2009 6:29:23 PM |
| Q: |
I am in Edmond, Oklahoma, but the gps says I'm in Kansas City. Kansas City is the default city it is set to after manufacturing. I am trying to set it to my current location, but don't know how. Please help! Thanks!

It sounds like it never acquired satellite lock. Turn it on and place it under open sky and leave it there for 30 minutes. That should take care of it. |

| How do I update the maps on my Garmin Streetpilot i5? - 1/6/2008 9:42:19 AM |
| Q: |
I have a streetpilot i5, I see there are maps on Garmin's website for 130 or so dollars, but I don't want to spend that if it doesn't continually update the maps. Does it just update them once and then 5 years from now I have to spend another 130 to update them again?
|
| A: |
Usually you get a free year's worth of map updates, and then you'll be charged.
They have to buy the map data from others typically but they do charge a lot above and beyond what I think they pay. |

| Is the the Garmin StreetPilot c530 a good GPS system? - 12/10/2007 6:12:53 PM |
| Q: |
I want something that costs no more than $250. The Garmin StreetPilot c530 seems like a good choice, right?
I found it for $209 on Amazon.
No one has an opinion?
|
| A: |
Today's GPS units all work fairly well. The biggest difference used to be the maps, but even the maps are similar. User configurabilty and map update costs are important considerations. I like the TomTom, but Garmin is also a good unit.

| What is a better GPS Garmin StreetPilot c550 or TomTom GO 510 ? - 12/3/2007 7:12:39 PM |
| Q: |
I have a 2001 Ford Excursion and I travel a bit. I take my kids snowboarding and to travel lacrosse tournments occassionally. I want a good GPS that will take me anywhere. Please give me reason why one is better and if you know one that is better please tell me and why it is.
|
| A: |
TomTom GO 510 is better because it is less expensive. A cool feature is choosing what kind of voice you want directing you. Our English guide calls the freeways and highways "motorways."
GPS Garmin StreetPilot c550 is just not as good! |

| The front screen of my garmin streetpilot c340 gps is cracked. How can I get it replaced? - 8/1/2007 10:48:43 AM |
| Q: |
Garmin wants $250 to replace it and the sytem cost $400. Is there a less expensive solution?
|
| A: |
If you're not within warranty, then you're probably out of luck. Take that $250 that Garmin is charging you and buy a Mio. |

| Garmin StreetPilot GPS - How to save and transfer My Favorite locations? - 1/17/2007 10:20:33 AM |
| Q: |
I've been using a Garmin StreetPilot i5 for almost a year and love it. I've accumulated quite a few places in the unit's Favorites. Many of them were saved by physically being at the location of the Favorite (as opposed to entering an address).
Is there any way to download Favorites FROM the GPS unit? I want to load them to my PC and then duplicate or transfer them to another Garmin unit?
I am thinking of buying another StreetPilot for our other car and would like to have the same Favorites in both units. I assume this is also a common issue when people upgrade their GPS units, but I searched and found nothing helpful yet.
Thanks!

use mapsource if supplied with the unit to connect the unit to the usb port, transfer from this unit to the next one. |
